The gospel writer Matthew tells us that Jesus also gave His followers the ability to exorcise demons: “Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness” (Matthew 10:1). When Jesus cast out demons, the Bible records that it seemed almost effortless for Him. When He spoke, the demons left immediately. For His followers, however, there appeared to be more of a challenge at times.
